Ninety community members came out for the School District Strategic Planning Kickoff at Memorial High School on November 19. After a brief overview of the process and some remarks by Mayor Ted Gatsas and Robin Comstock of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, participants gathered in classrooms to discuss the challenges that the school district faces, the priorities we should have going forward, and what characteristics we should look for in our next superintendent.

We would like to thank Dr. Mark McQuillan, Dean of the School of Education at SNHU, for his guidance in this process. We would also like to thank UNH MBA students Katy Easterly, Matt Tapley, and Shawn Theobald. We would especially like to thank our facilitators, Marty Boldin, Brenda Lett, Robin Comstock, Sarah Morse, Stacey Weigler, and Peter Sorrentino for the wonderful job they did.

The participants were very insightful which yielded good responses to the discussion questions. The next step involves using those responses to craft an online survey. The survey will be available here on the strategic planning website in December.
